The Workshops: Nuke compositing online course with VFX Supervisor Hugo Guerra

This new VFX course includes 7x compositing workshops using Foundry's Nuke and Blackmagic DaVinci, covering advanced topics like cleanup, CG compositing, DEEP compositing, ACES, conform and VFX editorial, grading and much more. The workshops included are:

D-Love Clean-up Workshop: In this workshop, we tackle a challenging cleanup. It includes techniques for removing rods, making clean plates, tracking patches and doing rotoscoping. We use Nuke and Silhouette in this workshop. This workshop has nine classes, and it’s completed and ready to watch.

Gural CG Compositing workshop: In this workshop, we composite a production shot from a cinematic I directed called 'Heroes Arena. We cover AOVs, 3D systems, glows, lenses, DOF, Motion blur, and so much more. We also cover the final production script. This workshop has nine classes, and it’s completed and ready to watch. (This workshop is a full edit of a previous live stream.)

GOK Production Compositing Workshop: In this workshop, we composite a production shot from the BBC God Only Knows film, I VFX supervised at the Mill. We cover Keying, IBK, 3D tracking, 3D system, despill, screen correct, grading, and so much more. We also cover the final production script. This workshop has 15 classes, and 9 of them are ready to watch. (This workshop is a full edit of a previous live stream.)

Conform and VFX editorial workshop: In this workshop, we conform an entire actual production short film using Nuke Studio and DaVinci. We showcase how to handle EDLs, edits, conforming and distributing the shots to the VFX department, managing colour spaces and much more. This workshop will have at least five classes. Final classes will be available in 2025. (Final date TBC)

Racetrack DEEP workshop: In this workshop, we composite a full CG shot using DEEP. We cover most DEEP nodes, including how to composite regular AOVs with DEEP and merge cards in the 3D system using the DEEP information. This workshop will have at least nine classes. Five classes are already available to watch. The final classes will be finished by Q1 of 2025. (Final date TBC)

Pint CG workshop: In this Workshop, we composite a CG car and a falling CG body into a live-action plate. We cover planning, compositing, rotoscoping, cleanup, 3D projections, CG matching moving, camera tracking, DOP, Motion blur, lens matching, lens artefacts, colour correction, matching CG to the plate, ACES pipelines, DEEP and much more. This workshop will have at least five classes. 5 classes are already available to watch. The final classes will be available by Q1 of 2025. (Final date TBC)

Sniper Elite CG workshop: In this Workshop, we will composite a full CG shot from actual production. We will use a shot from the Sniper Elite 5 cinematic trailer I directed. It will include CG compositing, AOV rebuild, 3D system, 3D particles, ACES, colour correction, lens artefacts, lens simulation, DOP, motion blur, and more. This workshop will have at least five classes and will be recorded soon. Final classes will be available by Q2 of 2025. Final date TBC)
