Do I need to know Nuke to take this course?

Meet the teachers:

Hugo Guerra will teach you core skills and compositing fundamentals, developed in his long career spanning 25 years in the VFX Industry, working in companies like Nexus, The Mill, Fire Without Smoke, PlayStation London, Rebellion Film Studios, among others. Covering many of the techniques developed during his experience as Head of the Nuke department at The Mill London and as a VFX Supervisor on many productions for clients like Audi, Adidas, Nike, IKEA, Activision, Adobe, Ubisoft, Sony, Zeiss, Deep Silver, Square Enix, and Warhammer, Amazon, Björn Borg, ITV, Grolsch, just to name a few.

Ricardo Ferreira is an award-winning Compositing Supervisor working in the visual effects industry since 2010, and he will be teaching you rotoscoping, cleanup and painting inside Nuke. Ricardo was part of the team that won the Oscar for Best Visual Effects in 2016 for the film Ex-Machina. After completing the two compositing courses at Escape Studios in London, he has worked on both film and commercials for Industrial Light Magic (ILM), DesignStudio, Cinesite, Prime Focus, MPC, Double Negative (DNeg), Trixter and Polarmedia, among others. Ricardo is also an extremely experienced teacher of Visual Effects at the University level, with multiple TV appearances as a guest and expert on Visual Effects and as a lecturer for the Foundry.

How can I watch the course? 

The course is pre-recorded, and it's 18 weeks long. You can watch all the classes at your own pace, making it very flexible. To prevent the piracy of our investment, all videos will be protected with DRM and have a digital and physical watermark with the student’s name and IP. It will be delivered using our proprietary streaming application. 

There will be a private Discord server to discuss the topics of the course, where you can ask questions, show "work in progress", and get to know your other colleagues.
